I started this post in the Power Trac section since I took the design from power trac. This edger is a single disc mounted on 1.5 in sq tube bolted to a mount that clips to the front of my Ingersol 448. I made it so the mower can stay on, it just clips along side the mower mount pins, and it uses the lift arm from the snow blower.
I started with a worn out disc from a farmer down the road. Made a bushing to weld the disc to. Used one of the few broken mower spindles I've saved as the shaft for the disc. Also used another mower spindle for the barbell weights. Weights were used so the lift could remain in the float position rather than fiddling with down pressure all the time.
As I reported in the PT site, it worked great after a few adjustments. I was surprised at the angle I ended up with on the disc. But now all I do is drop it next to the driveway and start driving. It took two trips up and down the driveway to cut all the sod and dirt. I imagine it will be less effort now that I have this and plan to use it more often. Now all I have to do is paint it.
