Hello MTD owners,
I have a destroyed fan on the hydro, part #102 in the manuals. I have released the set screw on the forward knuckle, along with both spring pins on both knuckles.
The rear knuckle has no keeper set screw, just a drive key. The snap ring on the plastic fan appears to just provide a bit of tension to keep it spinning at speed, but it has been released also.
Hesitant to lever to hard, perhaps a 2x4 block on the aluminum fins would provide a bit more leverage while using a pry bar. Perhaps a fork is called for?
Any tips, the manual doesn't go into this, at least these downloadable MTD manuals.
