Drive over MMM

Hey guys any thoughts on the drive over decks? ease of removable vs the other type? and any other info you can give.

If you don't have a paved area to unload the deck they're great, just find a flat spot in the lawn and roll right over it. The 62D also can be carried around by the 3PH so it's very convenient.

Not sure how much more convenient it is over a traditional deck if you can lower the anti-scalp wheels and drop the deck onto concrete, I'd imagine it would just roll out from under the tractor but I've never had one so I can't compare.

I notice you have a 2520, what do you think of it and can it do all you want and need it to do? what are the pros and cons?

I like it. If I were buying today I'd look into the 2720 but I don't see a need to trade up. The 2520 is a great compromise between a 3x20 and a 2305, a bit on the small side but it's been able to handle everything I've asked of it. About the only thing I may end up wanting a larger tractor for would be dependent on how well the 2520 removes snow in case I get hit with a blizzard but I don't think I'll have any issues.

Another option is to calculate the total cost of the mowing setup for the 2520 and compare it to the price of a dedicated rider or ZTR - the deck plus the lift kit plus the MCS plus all the swapping back and forth may make a dedicated mower in addition to the 2520 worthwhile. My 2520 is mostly a mower that sometimes gets used as a tractor so it's a bit of a waste, but nothing beats having that tractor when you need it.

Used my 62D for the second time on the 2320. Takes about 30 mintues to remove the 46BH and the 200cx, and attach the deck. Even with that time I am still saving an hour on my mowing time from the old troy-bilt 46 inch mower. I'm not sure of the weight difference between the 62D and the 62C, but moving the 62D around by hand takes as long as mounting it. I really need to blacktop the driveway or clean the garage enough to get the tractor to the deck.

install / removal of the 54C on the 2305 takes about the same amount of time on a garage floor. Have not tried it on the lawn or driveway. I don't really think I want to unless on a hard smooth surface.

If you can afford it, buy it. My wife cuts with 54" MMM shaft drive on a JD 425 AWS. I got so tired of unhooking the shaft and weaseling the mower deck from underneath every time she cut that I had the underside of deck coated. Now I clean it only once a month when I sharpen the blades. Still a PITA . If I ever get rid of the two tractors we have and get just one......it will have a drive over deck.

62D is the only MMM i have ever owned so can't compare. I do know mine works pretty slick in my view. Have no problems dropping it or picking it back up.

I do the removal/install of my 54c on the 2305 right on a flat spot on the lawn and it's no big deal. Definitely don't need a hard surface to do that procedure.

I have a drive over deck for my Kubota. I was skeptical at first and then after driving over the deck and seeing that it is sturdy, It is much easier, for me, to drive over it instead of having to slide it in from the side, which was allways a pain in the rear. No issues what so ever.

I like mine. It is on three pins and the shaft and only the shaft is bit o a pain to reach for disconnecting or connecting.
