Drawbar to pto shaft question

been lucky so far as I did not pay attention to the distance between my pto and the drawbar when mowing with my 15' shredder. I am trying to track down an old manual (pretty sure i have a 15' bushhog batwing). New ones call for a 14" drawbar to end of pto shaft.

Question: until I track down original specs, is there a rule of thumb to keep me from tearing up when mowing or driving thru ditches/hills etc, which could push the shaft thru the tractor? Help

great and thanks. I am going to have to watch that several times to follow his instructions. Luckily I won't have to cut anything as I can adjust the drawbar.
