Draw Bar Kingpin MIA !???

Tried today for the first time with my new (13 hours) 3040 to pull a trailer. As I was attaching the ball I couldnt figure out why the drawbar was soooooo sloppy. I pulled on in and the drawbar came right out!!! The pin that holds it in was gone. At first blush I figured it was missed at the dealer; and then I remembered using it as a tie down point when I took delivery. I have to assume that it vibrated out (still maybe a dealer issue????) The manual doesnt show detail of the pin, but it seems to have a smaller bolt to hold it in position. Does anyone have a better drawing/description?

I think you pin is MIA. The dealer should supply a replacement.

As you surmised, the pin is held in place with a bolt on the end of a flange. In the photo below, I have my drawbar set at the shorter position because my rotary cutter's blades would hit it when raised. I'd start at this position when you get your new pin assy.

Thanks for posting Jim I really enjoy your perspectives and expertice (I'm a long time Lurker) . I will call the dealer and see about a new one; I doubt I'll find mine til spring, if at all. It's nice to know what I'll be looking for.

An update:

I called the Dealer and w/o hesitation they ordered a pin for me and will ship it ASAP. I bought from a Dealer 3 hours away because I really liked them; now I feel vindicated for passing many NH dealers to get my tractor! Those guys are great.
