Load Control Sensing Shaft Leak '76 2040

I was trying to remove both draft links for space reasons in the shop. Got one off with out much issue but couldn't get the other side. So I had the bright idea of just knocking the shaft through from the now open end so I could get at the stubborn pin better. Had NO idea the shaft holding them on went through the transmission thus giving me an unexpected fluid change. I was able to get the shaft back in but now it leaks. I'm guessing I screwed up some seals in there. Or I just made an existing leak worse?

How does one go about correcting this sort of mistake? All the info I致e seen looks to be for newer models and set up different.

You need to drain hyd oil, place L/D lever under seat in "D",remove shaft,R&R seals, reinstall shaft & hyd oil. Parts required are 2 ea-T22098 & 2 ea-A4730R. Add shim washers so as to remove any side to side motion of shaft after draft links have been installed. This would be a good time to check sump screen(key 30) while you have hyd oil drained.

It can be done by sliding the shaft in far enough to access the seal, but you will lose some oil.

But checking the screen is a good idea. Last time I drained my 2030, I planned to clean the screen, but could not get the cap off.

Screen is good because I had just done a planned fluid change before the unplanned one!

So is there a trick to getting these nylon rings in? I知 not having much luck. Maybe sit them in some hot water first?

Maybe easier to change that kinked-one out now, rather than have the inevitable leak. ........or not?

Yes heating the nylon rings in warm water or oil helps installation
