DR 6 Ton splitter

I have a 6 ton electric DR spliiter. It has the momentary push button power switch and I would like to replace that with a on/off toggle switch. Has anyone done that here? Mine has a capcitor and the original switch has four wires going to it. That confuses me. I called the factory for a little help and was greeted with the old CYA saftey thing....no advice. Would appreciate some help if possible. Thanks, smoker

You should have a wiring diagram, or the manufacturer should send you one.

What is purpose of replacing switch? Can you please explain log splitter operation. I'm not familiar with electric splitters.

DR is of no help. No diagrams. Splitter is opeated by holding down the power button and depressing a lever which activates the ram. A real pain after several splits.

I think what you need to do is remove the switch and see what it's current and voltage rating is and then go to an electronics parts website like Newark or Digikey and try to find a switch with the same properties and size.

Thank you gentelmen for your help. I have resolved the problem. Bought a spdt toggle switch and did a wire swap from the original push button switch. Plugged it in and waited for the smoke....no smoke motor running....good to go. Have no idea what I did
