dozer root rake

Hey guys, Question about a root rake kit . I recently took delivery of a root rake kit which includes all necessary parts, teeth,gussets,lugs and pins-----all but an 8' length of tube steel to weld these items to. Can anyone tell me what the minimum size & wall thickness of the tube steel should be for a 70 hp. dozer ? I have 3" x 3" x1/4" tube but I'd hate to weld $500 worth of pieces to this only to find that it's not going to take the stress and twist under pressure. Any help on this would be appreciated. thanks.

I dont think your tubing is anywhere near heavy enough. My rake has the teeth welded to a solid piece of 3x3.

I have a root rake I found on my property. It is over 2000lbs. Nothing but solid steel. and it is 3X8.
