Dozer Rental Question

Thinking about building a pond this year. Was wondering how much the average cost to rent a John Deere 650/700(CAT D4?) sized dozer for a week? Thanks, Ash

Depending on your soil condistions, and if its a pond, I hope clay, you will need a bigger macine. My Case 1550 is similar in size to a John Deere 850 or a Cat D6. These are about the smallest you want to go for digging and moving dirt.

The smaller dozers are fine for lighter jobs, but this is something that bigger is better.

What dealers are close to you? How big will the pond be? Is the land cleared yet? Do you have stumps to take out?

There's allot involved here and some things the dozer does well, other things it's not your best choice.
