Tractor
2105 Massey 1734e
Would like to introduce my self as a new member. I own a 2015 Massey 1734e hydro with loader R4 tires, quick attach bucket, forks and 7' curtis plow. 5' bush hog, 5' box blade, 64" snow blower, 6' rock rake, farmi winch and hydraulic wood splitter. We live "off the grid" in Maine and this tractor keeps us in fire wood and connected to the rest of world (1/2mile gravel drive). Other than a few operator induced problems (bad fuel, stick through cooling line, and crushed dpf fuel filter)I would have to say that this tractor has been a reliable piece of equipment.

We have just passed the 500hr mark and I will provide a brief assessment. Runs smoothly with good fuel economy (less than 1gallon/hr). The every 4hr dpf cycle is a pain in the neck. The loader has yet to break/bend pushing that 7' plow but I can see that happening. The loader could use more lift. The tractor runs through our rough rocky woods reasonably well and is compact enough to get in and out of some tight spots.

I am consider trading up to a heavier tractor; considering kubota l3560 or massey 1736..... any thoughts?

Welcome to the forum Chris. We are glad that you joined and you came to the right place to get any question answered.

I recommend that you test drive each tractor before making a final decision to get the feel of each.

If money is not a concern, I would up it to a L4060 or Massey 1742.

The l4060 and 1742 are also being considered; however I was but I was hoping to be able use my 5000lb payload trailer 5' brushhog, 64" snowbloer and 5 foot box blade. What I,m looking for boils down to a tractor that is a little heavier than my Massey 1734e, with a similar sized footprint w/ a stronger loader and bullet proof reliability.... does such an animal exist?
