dosn\'t pay to get out of bed!!

Woke up Sunday morning to find this waiting for me, dang it, I liked that tree, shaded that back of the barn.

Well, anywho got it cleaned up and called the tree doctor out to take a look see, he walks around it and says "hummm", "ahhhh", "I see" come on all ready doc, whats the good word.......that when I hear what I don't want to hear "put it on the ground before it takes the back of your barn down, it's got rot running through it" jezzzz I'm going back to be maybe when I wake up this will all be just be a bad dream.

What was it live oak, black walnut???

Since I don't burn wood any longer my thoughts were is there any pieces that could be used for turning on a lathe.

I sure would hate to loose the Oaks in our yard ... They are beautiful trees and it took them a long time to get as big as they are. ... I know I would really miss the shade and their beauty ...

Bummer /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif You hate to loose "good" trees.I have a brother-in-law that bought a 40,gave a 100K for the the property,plus spent major bucks getting water and power on it.

The big draw was this property had over 50 mature Oaks some where between 75-100 years old.

Two winters ago they had a MAJOR ice storm which split many of the biggest trees right into /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif What a mess...we went to help try to clean up the worst of the damaged limbs and trees and worked for 4 straight days...

When we had finally finished we had a brush pile that easily covered a 1/3-1/2 acre,plus we had at least 20 cords of firewood stacked.

Gary said the worst part of the whole ordeal was to lie in bed and "hear" the trees coming apart in the middle of the night...
