Monroe man tries to shoot squirrel, hits himself instead

A Benton County, Ore., sheriff's officer says a 36-year-old Monroe man told deputies he was startled by a squirrel that ran up his left leg so he fired at it but hit his foot instead.

We have to educate people on handling guns and shooting!

I am willing to pay more every year hunting and fishing, if the money goes toward education.

A refresher hunting course every three years or so and mandatory

Oh, and hunter orange in all states.

Feral squirrels have been known to charge without provocation. Keep squirrel pepper mace on hand at all times, if charged curl up in a fetal position and play dead....they then might loose interest in your nuts and leave.
