All--
I have a Mahindra 5545 4wd. When new, I experienced a severe power steering leak. Broken line. Dealer fixed it. Got it home and within half an hour the same thing happened. I "steered" it onto the trailer using the left and right brakes. Suboptimal.
Took it back to my Gold Star Mahindra dealel just sourh of KC, 250 miles from where we live. This time they figured out that line that kept breaking was routed on the bottom of the steering gear assembly and snaged everything snagable. (My work is primarily in the forest.). The dealer rerouted it and I never had another problem.
BUT my Gold Star Mahindra dealer dropped Mahindra. He told me they were great tractors, but corporate Mahindra is a nightmare to deal with.
That was a couple of years ago. I've had no problems since then. But I live in fear of something going down and finding out parts availabilty is non-existent.
I like the tractor. It has hydraulics about twice the size of my friend's similar sized Kioti. The Kioti frame mounted backhoe is made out of heavy sheetmetal. The Mahindra 75B backhoe is contructed from heavy guage steel. There is no comparison.
As others have said: The dealer is the key. Wish I could find another Gold Star Mahindra dealer.
The Kioti has 60hp compared to my 43. There's no comparison. The Mahindra will dig faster and deeper than the Kioti.
My friend may be able to get parts for his Kioti. I fo not know if I can get parts for my Mahindra. So, there's that . . .
