All--

I have a Mahindra 5545 4wd. When new, I experienced a severe power steering leak. Broken line. Dealer fixed it. Got it home and within half an hour the same thing happened. I "steered" it onto the trailer using the left and right brakes. Suboptimal.

Took it back to my Gold Star Mahindra dealel just sourh of KC, 250 miles from where we live. This time they figured out that line that kept breaking was routed on the bottom of the steering gear assembly and snaged everything snagable. (My work is primarily in the forest.). The dealer rerouted it and I never had another problem.

BUT my Gold Star Mahindra dealer dropped Mahindra. He told me they were great tractors, but corporate Mahindra is a nightmare to deal with.

That was a couple of years ago. I've had no problems since then. But I live in fear of something going down and finding out parts availabilty is non-existent.

I like the tractor. It has hydraulics about twice the size of my friend's similar sized Kioti. The Kioti frame mounted backhoe is made out of heavy sheetmetal. The Mahindra 75B backhoe is contructed from heavy guage steel. There is no comparison.

As others have said: The dealer is the key. Wish I could find another Gold Star Mahindra dealer.

The Kioti has 60hp compared to my 43. There's no comparison. The Mahindra will dig faster and deeper than the Kioti.

My friend may be able to get parts for his Kioti. I fo not know if I can get parts for my Mahindra. So, there's that . . .

Ps I sure like his air conditioner, heater, am/fm radio! And that cab!

BBB,
I agree with your views on Mahindra tractors.
Mine has been great. I have been watching multiple places for parts and it seems that most parts can be found if you are willing to hunt online or find non-OEM options.

Good luck and be safe.

One thing about a lot of threads on here and that is, they really don't deserve the mileage they get but there is always someone who has to have the final say / last comment.
no I don't

Thank goodness we have you here to determine what posts deserve attention.

Kubota's too are known for wiping out front axle bearings when using the loader with heavy material. NOT above what it should do, mind you, but heavy material often kills the front ends. FELs on Ag tractors are probably made for hay and horse manure removal. Not buckets of sand, stone and rocks. I hope they warranty it. My theory is... If the arms can lift it, the tractor should handle it.
I agree about the lift capacity. I put a truck plow on the front of my 2816. I under built the attachment bracket so that will fail hopefully before I damage the tractor. I hope that the same goes for the 3 point lift.

OP doesn't seem to have good luck with tractors. His 2 posts in 2004 were to complain about a Kubota HST starting off with a jerk and not getting fixed by the dealer. Hopefully he will come back with good news about the Mahindra getting fixed under warranty.

No worries about warranty service here, regardless of any brand I might purchase. I can't afford a tractor that's new enough to still be under warranty...

In todays market it is hard to justify paying 80% or more of new price for something 5 years old with 400 hrs on it. not with 0% financing and 5 year warranties.

Nothing back from the OP. Can this thread be "locked"?

My newest tractor is 20 years old, and I could barely afford it when we bought it 5 years ago. I could not afford it now at today's prices. My other tractors are roughly 55 and 70 years old, and I didn't buy them. I inherited them.
