Hi all, new guy here. I am considering buying a gray market Yanmar since someone here said that the parts are easier to get. The only dealer around here I can find seem to only sell YM & Mitsubishi. My first question is generally speaking, can you buy domestic tires like R3 or turf to replace the rice tires I would like to drive this tractor on the lawn sometimes. Or will new rims fit the hubs? I haven't decided on a tractor size or whether it will be 2 or 4 wheel drive. We get some snow here in N. Idaho but I have a snow blower and another small two wheel drive tractor that seem to work ok.
ALso, in looking at a picture of a 1400 2 wheel drive YM the front wheels look kind of whinpy for a loader. Anyone have an opinion on this?
Thanks, Tom

Putting a loader on a 2WD CUT is controversial. Many do not recommend it. A heavy load on the front lightens the weight on the rear, affecting braking, especially when going downhill.

If you get a 4WD and want to go with turf tires, you will have to do some research to ensure you do not change the ratio of the diameters of the front and rear tires. I left the rice tires on mine, so I can't speak to the difficulties involved.

If you go 2 wheel drive make sure you counter the front end loader weight with some wait on the back. I am runing I believe a 5 foot scoop up front on my 2210 and counter the weight with box scrap with lots of weighs on it. IF you go with the shuttle shift going down hill is much easier when digging. I dug a 3 ft hole with my loader and was still able to back out of it with enought rear counter weight.
have fun.
