Dogs in Lowes Store

I don't really give a carp if any of you princesses are offended at seeing my dog. She does nothing but sniff at things while humans do much, much worse.

I also don't believe those that say they have seen significant issues with dogs at HD and Lowes. If that were the case to any real degree HD and Lowes would have banned them.

I have seen a few less than desirable encounters between people and dogs at my local Lowes; some bordering on possible assault by the dog and dog owner attitudes toward any public reaction. Just takes time and this will blow up in some store and create an expensive incident and you will see dogs banned. Animals will revert to their natural instincts if provoked regardless of their training.

Sorry to hear of your bad experiences, Ron. I have had numerous experiences with dogs in public and the percentage of bad experiences is probably not too different than that of human kind. I think people also revert to their natural instincts when provoked as well. Just sayin'.

Understanding animal behavior is an interesting topic. My next door neighbor is one of the originals that trained dolphins for the US Navy starting in the 60s. Remember Flipper. I have had the honor of listening to a few of his old stories of this pioneering adventure. Quite amazing to hear.

Our local Lowes allows pets, not just service animals, they are right next to a Petsmart, ONCE my dog had an accident (I had given her some table scraps and it messed with her stomach).
I cleaned it up myself.
I love the fact that I don't have to leave them in the car on a hot Oklahoma summer day, and I go out of my way to shop there as much as I can.

FYI, there is a HUGE difference between a service dog and an emotional support animal (EMA).
A service dog should NEVER be approached or petted, an EMA can be but you should always ask first.
They both have different rules and laws, service dogs must be allowed to stay with their person, EMAs can be refused, but they both must be well behaved.
If you want to know if they are wearing a fake service animal vest ask the owner what the dog is trained to react to and how they are trained to react, if they are not trained to react to a specific ailment and trained to react in a specific manner then they are not service dogs.
My two dogs are neither, they just love meeting people, and people are always complementing me on how well behaved they are, my reply is if they don't behave then they would still be at home.

I think the fragile ones are the ones whining about SEEING a dog in a hardware store. As if it impacts them. It must be SO traumatic.

No I think they would need a service CAT or something.....
