Our prior dogs were just like yours.

Our current GS follows us around the house when we are vacuuming, begging to be vacuumed all over. Different strokes for different folks...

Dad had a weiney dog that would come running if he fired up the vacuum cleaner.

Dog would come into the room and flop on his back in the middle of the floor

Gypsy, when she was a pup, thought it was the best thing in the world to attack the dust mop.

She would pounce on it, sink her teeth around the handle and ride it around the house.

I started having to put her outside when she reached about 6 months old.

It wasn't much fun pushing it around the house with a 40lb dog latched on to it

We have come to be at peace with dog hair. It is omni present - more of a condiment I fear.

The pile of hair was after about 30 min of brushing of one dog and that was not even half of the hair she was loosing...

Dogs are a gift that keeps on giving, for sure; my German Shepherd sheds her own weight in hair about weekly.

When I had my lab I used to say I had another dog out in the truck... or at least enough fur to make one.

Who donates more fur when you brush them- the dog or the horses?

In the spring, the horses shed more but a GSD sheds all year long.

We have a robot vac that has silicone "brushes" which is just *amazing* at getting cat hair. I'm astounded at the volume of cat hair it picks up daily from four cats - and you really can't see this hair anywhere if the vac isn't running. We're 1/2 wood floor, 1/2 carpeting; future home will ideally be all wood floor with area rugs. I've seen what's under w2w carpeting when you tear it up...

We used to have a Leonberger a long time ago and she would blow her coat; my wife would take her outside and just pull chunks of hair for half an hour a day. Dog loved it.
