Does anyone else have a ct122? Is this what it sounds like when it starts up first time if the day. After that it starts easy.

It was in a heated garage. Around 17-18 degrees celsius. Thought it either is losing prime or these tractors just start a bit rough

Agree: My 225 will start like that @ 40-50f if I don't wait for the pre-heat. If pre-heat dash light is on and you are waiting for light to go out before cranking, check resistance if glow plugs.
Within seconds of starting to crank there is smoke present = is getting fuel.

Your not giving it enough throttle.. bring it OFF OF idle just a tad.. it'll make all the difference in the world.
I think, if u read the owners manual, it says to..

It's a diesel. It's cold. I let my CT235 idle for half a minute to get the oil flowing before idling up a couple hundred RPM's. Synthetic oil, mind you. The pour point is - 50. Molasses oil will take longer to reach the top of the head. Consider a block heater?

It's in a heated garage here. I think I will try giving just a little more throttle then idle when I get home tomorrow and let you guys know how it goes.

Thanks for all the ideas and opinions. Much appreciated

No comments on your glow plugs? You sure they are working? These engines need those on first crank of the day even though garaged. Without using them they crank just like your video.

Hey Winston. I have not tested those yet. I will be testing them this week when I get home from work!!

I tried to do the ohm test and got 1.2 on one and then some weird readings on the other 2. So I pulled them and hooked them to a 12 volt and they started glowing red. I also get 12 volts at each one when the glow plug light is on. So I think they are working although I couldn't get a good ohm reading

Pretty normal for most diesels, among 5 I've owned. The other 2: Isuzu diesel generator and VW TDI are exceptions. Neither of these ever chugged. Never know they are diesels.

It does sound like your glow plugs are working. I don't have an answer for you but still do not believe your video shows a normal crank in a heated garage. I can crank my CT235 at 32f after warming glow plugs and it will crank first turn without any display similar to your video.

This starts on the first crank. It just chugs for 10 seconds if that until the idle smooths out

You could try cycling your glow plugs twice, before actually turning the key to start. See if that helps.
