I've read through countless threads on when to change engine oil, HST filter and hydraulic oil. 50 hours....100 hours....400 hours....never:eek:

There doesn't seem to be a set answer other than "whatever the Kubota maintenance schedule calls for".

Here's my dilemma..... I bought the tractor last November and I've only put 28 hours on it. (yeah, I know....find more projects and get more seat time!) I am going to change the engine oil and filter, it's been a year, it's time. I'm going to change the oil out with 10w30 dino right now and switch to synthetic at the next oil change (maybe like at 50 hours).

But, should I change out the hydraulic filter/hst filter and fluid now too seeing that it's been a year? Or, am I OK to wait until I get the 50 hours on it for those things? I know engine oil can have issues with moisture and blowby contaminating the oil and that's why the max of one year is recommended. I just wasn't sure about the transmission/hydraulic system. I'm sure I'll have 50 hours by spring as I use the tractor for snow removal.

Do a complete hydraulic change at 50 hours (oil and filter). It is a debatable issue on TBN.

Make sure that your motor oil change is with compression ignition rated oil. It should have a "C" on the container (for "compression"). Not "S" for spark.

Engine oil/filter once a year.

Hydro oil/filter by hours in manual.
