Does Roundup / glyphosate cause rust?

Spraying fencelines with round up generally results in weeds all over the fences as you kill off all the grasses and let the hardyier and faster growing weeds take over. Normally a better idea to use a broadleaf if you are trying to get rid of vines and weeds. The grass will help supress some of the other weeds.

Also, we have barbed wire fence that is next to a highway that is salted for 6 months a year and gets salt slush pushed on to it. Its about 40 years old and in fine shape, its galvanized wire. We also have barbed wire fence in our woods that is 100 years or more old, the light gauge non-galvanized stuff is very rusty now and the ATV riders can break through easily. The heavy gauge stuff is still good, also about 100 years old. The woods is very humid/wet.

Roundup is the best herbicide for the money right now. To the point that farmers are now planting " Roundup Ready" soybean and corn seeds. These are seeds that have been genetically altered by Monsanto to be immune to Roundup. The initial cost of the seed is a lot higher but the farmers say they save money in the long run because Roundup is the cheapest and best herbicide that is on the market right now.
