Several times I have noticed it would have nice to have a horn on the tractor. Especially when your are trying to get someones attention. Does anyone have a horn on your tractor? If you've done this could you provide some details or pictures?

Thanks

My neighbor had a horn. He honked it once and his wife yelled out to ask him what he needed. He told her to bring him a beer.

He no longer has a horn.

The surgery to remove it lasted 4 hours. I understand he needed 4 pints of blood.

Interesting, my 5005 Mahindra came factory w/ a horn. Helps a lot when trying to shoo the cattle out from around the hay while trying to set the ring around it w/ the FEL.

Seems the european versions of many tractors had horns.
Look at your parts book, if you have it. You can prob order
everything you need from your dealer.

Me, I wired in a M/C under the hood. I hate to shout over the
engine noise when I have a "helper".

I've used it more than a couple of times since we installed one on the New Holland. Here's how we installed ours. beep-beep!

If you go somewhere that sells golf cart accessories they sell a horn kit for about $20. The nice thing about these is the button. It is made to go through the floor and use your foot to honk your horn or you can mount it to use your finger and it's waterproof.

My NH 7610s has a factory horn mounted at the front grill, and a button on the dash cowling. Quite a loud sucker...

That was the way that my MF 1250 was. It had a factory horn behind the grill and a button on the dash. I guess that is what spoiled me. I though that I just had to have a horn on my MF 1440. It didn't come with one, more than likely to save 15 cents. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I'm not a big horn guy. When I was digging my lake I'd switch off with another guy between running the excavator and driving the dump truck. When I was on the excavator, I'd hold the loaded bucket up and he could simply back under it. He knew "when" because I'd drop the first bucket full in the bed. When he was on the excavator he always wanted to have this complicated series of honks trying to tell me where he wanted me. First, I'm quite capable of putting the dump truck exactly where needed and where I wanted it. Second, we had radios in each machine. Third, I pulled the fuse to his horn on the 3rd day. Forth, I cut the wires to the horn on the 4th day when he replaced his fuse. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

My daughter has had one "date" that was a double date and chaperoned by a parent. When he pulled up in the driveway and laid on the horn, he got me; not my daughter. We had a nice little chat about manners and courtesy and he left without a date. So, no, I don't have a horn. Why do you ask? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Many commercial sites require a backup alarm horn. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Had to fix the horn on my truck to pass the provinces vehicle inspection. Don't need brakes but do require a horn?? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I agree with you that it's nice to have a horn on the tractor. The funny thing is, our old '70's vintage tractor has one but our new one didn't, so I got a horn and a weatherproof horn switch from an auto parts store and wired it right to the battery, with a fuse. Mounted the switch on the dash near the light switch. I hardly ever use it, but it's nice to have it there. A quick toot's handy for getting someone's attention.
