Tractor
1920's
Edgar on tractor.jpgHi, I recently found a picture of my grandfather on his tractor (see attached). It would be great if anybody could identify the make, model and year. They don't make them like that anymore!

Kind Regards

Ian

Absolutely great picture Ian. Love the fact he is out working the field in dress shirt, pants and vest. Real class.

As off the tractor. I have no idea. Enlarging the picture it looks like the from say A. T. 3800.

Sorry no idea about the tractor.

Gosh that phot though is amazing. Ditto on the attire. It amazes me how proper people were back in the day. It looks like your grandfather was wealthy. I bet not everyone on his block owned a tractor.

Maybe a Peterbro, made by Peter Brotherhood, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, England from 1920-30. 4-cyl, 31hp, Ricardo engine, started on gas, ran on paraffin.

Chamberlain ???

Thanks for your help everyone - I have been reliably informed that the tractor is a Fordson model F built around 1919. It is quiet a rare one with the ladder type radiator sides.

The last person I saw dressed like that, on a tractor, was Oliver Windell Douglas. :)

If Oliver could have made that tractor run on hotcakes, he'd have been in business.
