Dodge Hemi running bad

I'm glad you got it fixed.

But I have to ask, if all the springs are suspect, why not replace them all before one breaks and you REALLY hurt the motor?

I may do that, maybe not. After talking with a couple folks very familiar with the problem, it's not as common as first thought. In all the warranty records, there seems to be no cases of a second spring breaking on a single vehicle. MOST Hemi's built in '03/'04 had no troubles with valve springs. If it were a widespread problem, I'd have changed 'em all while the truck was down.

I'm thinking about possibly changing to an aftermarket cam, new valve springs, reprograming the "chip", and a few other changes.... OR......

I get a vehicle allowance from my employer. It enables me to buy a new vehicle every 4 years. The Dodge is approaching 4 years old. (Albiet only 75,000 miles) I might just trade it on a new one. In spite of what could have been a serious problem, I'm otherwise very happy with the truck. In all probability, the next one will be a new version of what I have now. All the heavy towing is done with my '03 Turbo diesel Cummins Dodge now also. The gasser is leading an easier life now than what it was seeing a few seasons ago.

For now, it just seemed to be more reasonable to just fix what was wrong and go on with life.
