How do y'all get up to the surface? There is no way I could climb the ends and step over or through. I have to set a ladder against the side and strap it in place. Climb the ladder and step off like most would to a roof. I leave enough of the ladder above to use to step back onto it from the platform. Helps to stiffen the scaffold too.

Thanks for the tip...I've been beginning to look.

I set an 8 foot folding ladder next to mine to get up there and back down again. It's nice as a work platform when I'm doing a lot of work at that height, but if it's a smaller job, I just use ladders. I haven't set mine up in over a year. The last time was on a porch that I was painting and I had it set up for a couple of days.

I feel safe climbing the ends and swinging around the side with it one piece high. I felt nervous trying it 2 pieces high. This stuff is pretty sketchy being 2 piece high anyway. I’ve done that 1 time but I’d recommend full size scaffolding for going 2 or more pieces high.

I drove to TSC this morning to check this out. They had just 1 in stock, I liked it, and I brought it home.

The deck is just 1/2 in thickness but the wood is surrounded on all 4 sides by steel framing. The frame has 4 cross members underneath to support the deck plus a fifth cross piece that connects with the 2 main side rails. All in all I found the platform to be quite sturdy.

The TSC website says it has an adjustable platform height between 24 and 48 inches. The 48 max must be CYA on their part because it does indeed have a max platform height of 72 inches. I climbed up using the end rail while at the 6ft level and got a feel for the overall stability. It did not feel unsafe at all however I was on a level concrete surface. I'm sure I will need to use more caution if on gravel or grass, etc.

Their sale price ends tomorrow or maybe Sunday. For light-duty scaffolding, I would recommend it.

I bought adjustable legs for mine. Basically a large diameter screw/bolt that slips inside the legs with a flat steel baseplate. Each can be adjusted independently for use on off level ground.

This isn't the listing I bought from, but it's similar: Leveling Jack Roof Scaffolding Stairs Steps Un-even Land Hill Steel Plate Base | eBay

If you buy a set, be sure to check the diameter. There are a few different types and some may not fit inside the legs of these scaffold sets.

Well I completed my first project with it - removing about 5 years of "leaf" buildup on a standing seam patio roof that is connected to my house.

The procedure I eventually settled on was taping together Aluminum Swimming Pool Telescopic Poles (I had laying around) with a hoe on one end so I could span the 20' plus roof. Then while standing on the scaffold, slide the extended hoe up on a standing seam, flip it over to bite in, drag a pile of leaves down, repeat until I got a build up I could scoop off the roof into a bucket, then dump off the pool patio.
Due to leaning over etc needed I wanted extra stability. So I added two outriggers consisting of 2 pieces of scrap 2x4 and a few bolts.
I worked with the scaffold at it's next to last hole high and it was very stable.

I'd strongly advise to add outriggers, they make it really stable and for the cost of a few bolts and scrap wood are priceless.

And plan to use a ladder for access.

^^ I got two sets and have set them up side by side for extra width and stability. Also lets me use one at a lower height to get on first, them step up to the other higher one. I don't have the optional outriggers, but in every use so far, I've been able the uprights to tie-off to something solid.
