DLS3500 Model 917 will not start no response when trying to start

I removed the key from the ignition when I last used the mower. When I tried to reinsert the key I noticed that it did not go in all of the way and the key has some slight rust at the top. It does go into the ignition far enough to allow me to turn the switch but nothing happens. No click from the solenoid or anything at all. The machine was running great when I used it about five days ago and it is in the same spot under a car port. I check the battery and it is fully charged. The fuse is good.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Did you get this fixed? I would check all the safety switches first, then the connector on the back of the ignition switch.
