About had my mind made up on a Bota 5030 HSTC until I called a Kioti dealer and he offered me this tractor for $28,600. I own 2 other Bota's and am wanting you Kioti owners input. I am getting alot more HP and they say the cabs for the Kioti are superior. Is this a good price?

i think that's a good price - but it's been widely stated that price is widely variable based on your geographic location. frankly, that's ALOT of tractor for that price.

i have 300+ hrs on a DK55 cab in 12 months. absolutely no complaints. i compared this machine with alot of other models (different manufacturers, etc.), specifically settling on the DK55 and the Grand L 'bota. Both are excellent machines, but the DK had many more features (e.g., hydro pump capacity differences, weight, etc.) for the money.

and while this is somewhat subjective, i felt more comfortable in the DK cab. IMHO, better visibility, less cramped.. and an AC unit that allows me to use the cab as meat locker when i hunt.

good luck

Is that for the tractor only? FEL? I have no idea what they cost, just an interested observer.

Tractor and loader with quick attach feature. He also quoted me a 6' Bush hog brand and bale spear for an additional $1800

Somethings smells funny /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif .... If that is the price then jump on it, as that is way, way below dealer invoice. List on a DK65S Cab tractor and loader is over 43K.

OK here's what he told me. It is a 2004 model (not used), includes the loader and the quick connect package. He ordered it special, along with 5 others and 1 of the guys backed out. He said he called Kioti yesterday, told them he needed to move this tractor and they gave him an extra $1,000 off. I have not seen it, he asked me to come over to see, I plan on going Saturday morning. Said he would deliver to me if I paid his diesel fuel. (he is about 2 1/2 hours away.
That is all I know. I have seen several posts here over the past 2 years about Kioti so I thought I would check it out. Went to their site and found the closest dealer and here I am.

That price sounds incredible for a new DK65s with cab, loader, 72" HD bucket and quick attach. I just priced one out last Thursday. The dealer I visited was a super guy. I was there quite a while and posted some pics of a terrible accident that happened with one of his employees on a Branson tractor.

Anyway, after investing a considerable amount of time at the dealership, helping get his employee stabilized an in the ambulance, and helping get the Branson on all 4 wheels, I think the dealer likely gave me a pretty fair price. That price was $32,303. With the circumstances, I can't imagine that dealer even wanting to try to hold $4k gross on me. No, I don't really think that would be the case at all. The dealer was a great guy and I was more than a passing customer asking for a quote.

Anyway, as far as the tractors go, the L5030HST would compare much more closely to the DK50. The DK65 is physically a much larger, more powerful, and much heavier tractor. You pick up right at 600 pounds additional loader lift capacity with the DK65 and a whopping 2000 pounds additional lift capacity at the 3 pt. hitch. As far as the cabs on the Kioti being superior, I'd have to say no. They Kioti cabs are very nice, but I would not rate them as superior. What is superior on the Kioti DK65 is the 26.5 gallon fuel tank as compared to the tiny 11.4 on the Kubota.

I did make the mistake (oops /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif) of not realizing that you do have to use the clutch on the DK65 shuttle shift. Using the clutch it did operate fine. I've only used the hydro on the 5030. The DK65 did "feel" heavier and a little sluggish compared to the 5030. That is likely attributed to the Kioti DK65 having 100.65 pounds per hp as compared to the Kubota 5030's 78.8 pounds per hp. It is nice that the DK65 comes standard with front and rear differential lock and standard rear work lights. The dash and instrument panel on the 5030 is much nicer with not only the standard tach, hour meter, temp gauge and fuel gauge, but also includes exact ground speed, trip meter, and exact PTO speed reading. With the additional gauges, feel of the seat positon and cab materials, I'd actually give Kubota the slight edge on cab quality. There is just a more precision feel to operating the 5030. There again, the DK65 is actually more a true agriculture tractor than a utility tractor. I would think that a more work feel was desired. Yes, the DK65 is "pure animal". /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

If you compare the L5030 to the DK50, the 5030 is almost the exact same weight, but has a shade more hp and a shade more PTO hp; even with the L5030HSTC comparison tractor being a hydro. The L5030 loader lifts more, and the L5030 3 pt. hitch lifts more. The DK50 is not available in hydro at this time. I didn't price the DK50, but the 5030 is more tractor on the stat sheet than the DK50.

I think there is likely a mistake in the price you were quoted. If not, it would be a decision of what you wanted more; smooth and refined, or big and powerful.

72" HD bucket

You DO NOT want a 72" bucket for a DK65S!! 84" is much better suited for the DK65S. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The DK65 is physically a much larger, more powerful, and much heavier tractor.

I agree. I have plenty of experience with the older DK65 to agree with Dargo's opinion. I have never driven a 5030 Kubota, but have been around one before.

I was helping a friend of mine set trusses for his barn with my DK65 and homemade boom pole attached to my quick attach plate. It will reach about 25' up in the air!! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

To make a long story short the guy at the end (holding a rope on one end of the trusses to help stabilize them thought my tractor was hydro!! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif He didn't know I was shifting gears going to the barn from the truss pile. At the end of the day he really checked out my tractor, and he is a Kubota 5030 owner!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

What is superior on the Kioti DK65 is the 26.5 gallon fuel tank as compared to the tiny 11.4 on the Kubota

Totally agree!! Fuel tank is very nice and easy to fill.

I can't really comment on the cabs of the two, except that I like where Kioti put the exhaust stack on the new DK65S. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I can't comment on the 5030, but my tractor does not feel sluggish at all unless I would try to take off in road gear. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I agree with Dargo. In fact I think I may have said that line before!! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I really like the way the new Kioti DK65S looks. It looks better than mine, BUT I do not like it with the old style loader. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Kioti needs to address that issue in my opinion.

To me it (DK65S with old style loader) looks similar to what a CK30 with DK35 loader on it. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Change the loader, KIOTI.

At that price, are you sure he's not quoting you on a DK65, the older model? If you can get an S for under $30K, go for it.
Another feature some forget about on the 65 is the ground speed PTO which turns at wheel speeds. Good for some users, useless for others.
The S model has a very improved Perkins engine. I've used a DK65S and found it to be an extremely good tractor. From the outside rear hitch lever, telescoping arms and stabilizers, front/rear diff. locks, the dash that tilts with the steering so that no matter what height one is, he/she can still see the guages well. There was a lot of good thought put into this model. It also has improved air filtration and AC/Heat system over the original model.
As Dargo said, there really is no comparison between the Kubota model and the DK65. With that price, I sure wouldn't have any question as to which I'd buy. Kioti.

This tractor is definately not an S. It is an '04, I am told the S came out in 05.

/ DK65SC #15
Uh, oops again. I know nothing about the '04 model. I thought you were talking about the "S" model that I'd just checked out. You'd better take KJ's advice on that model. Also, the one other item that is really nice, and I don't know why all tractors don't have it, is the 3 pt hitch lever behind the tractor. KJ knows I like that feature. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif The best of luck to you. Even though I know nothing about the '04 model, I would still say that the 5030 would not compare to it. I guess sort of a nice 1 ton pickup truck vs a Mack truck thing.

All I can say is I am sure glad I went with the DK65S instead of the 5030. It was not hard giving up the hydrostatic and this Kioti is a thing of beauty. So much room in the cab, got a refridgerator, water cooler and complete wood working shop behind the seat. It is big! and with the 84" loader it is wide also. Got to be carefull in tight places. You won't be sorry you went with Kioti!
Thanks,
Gary
