dk55 axle fix

We have about 15 of the Dk55's out there and we have not had any problems at all with the front axle, as a matter in fact I was pretty surprised about the kit my self.
WE have already installed 4 front axle upgrade kits and will continue to install the rest of the ones we have.
I have all of mine kits instock and will be installing them as the customers machine becomes free.

If you are in need of the axle up grade please make sure you dealer has you on the list and also ask them what they did to it or what they are going to do to it parts wise.
According to your serial number there are different pieces that need to be used.

This is not a axle swap it is just hub and top cap (ball joint)

You are correct It is just some new parts for the old axle.

i think my dealer is doing all he can, but i believe the dk55 is fatally flawed.

not sure i agree. how does this explain my experience (600+ hrs in under 2 years of ownership)? it's very possible your machine is experiencing problems not found in all DK55s. a lemon is a lemon (be that a truck, car or tractor). i would hope that the dealer (and kioti) would recognize this issue and deal with it accordingly.

We got a fax from Kioti the other day with an update on the axle fix it seems they had a few isolated report of the new axle failing because the dealers forgot to install the snap ring from the old axle onto the new axle

My front axle was repaired last week. It has been too wet to work the tractor, but I hope to use it in the next day or two. I had no problems before the repair, and the axle looks to be more reinforced now, I bought my 55 used in Dec. 2005. It is a 2004 model and had 200 hours on it when purchased. The dealer that repaired the tractor, Reedy Creek Tractor, was friendly and offered good service. This was not the dealer from whom I bought the tractor.

I haven't had time to get the tractor to the dealer, so my dealer called my very bright and very early the other day - super! He was coming to town and asked if I'd mind if he stopped by to fix my axle. I said, yep come on down and the keys are in the tractor cab on the hook.

I came home from work and checked out the fix. Good job Kioti! Super strong, and I hopped right in and bush-hogged for 30 minutes or so. I swear it turns and steers easier... must be in my head.

How is that for a super dealer - way to go Todd and Bill!

Oh, one last thing... I wonder if Bill noticed that my Kioti was in the Barn and the poor ole John Deere was sitting in the rain...? I guess you can tell which tractor is my new baby...

Hi folks. It is my understanding that if you have a further front wheel offset (front wheels farther apart) the failure is more likely to occur. My dealer has already performed the service (I am a big fan of my dealer Upper Valley Tractor) I love the 55, my only major complaint is the bucket rollback and I may have to get the loader upgrade, which dramatically fixes the rollback and adds some power. My heavy duty grapple bucket could use the help.
I can post some pics of the grapple and the way the reomte hoses are run to the front.

well..... i just talked to the dealer. to quote him, "the front end blew up on the test". i'm going to shut up for now, because i know i'm going to say somethings that they will regret. by the way, they did put on new wheels that gave the tractor a narrower front end width when they put in the kit to make the power steering work kinda like power steering. now they are talking about going to ag tires on the front. jc

up date. picked up the tractor today. l l/2 hours after getting it home, it was broken again. the front tires wouldn't turn in 2wd, but would in 4wd. and wouldn't you know it, the lemon law in oregon is only for passenger vehicles.

I'm truly sorry to hear about your issues. Does the dealer say anything about Kioti stepping up and taking care of this for you? I mean, heck, if the thing has blown up over and over with the "fix" not taking care of the problem, they should stand behind the product and take care of it. The issues I had with the KL1595 loader drove me nuts and that was just poor performance. I don't think I would get any sleep if my front end kept blowing up.

You might look into the Magnuson-Moss Act to see if there is any relief for you there. I would recommend an attorney, but I haven't had any luck with them either. For me, they have taken the 175 dollars an hour and delivered no results.

Good luck getting some kind of satisfaction from this great tractor company. Keep us all updated.

Since the tractor stopped working so fast, I would be suspicious of the repair. Sounds like to me "something" was not repaired correctly. I wonder how much test driving your dealer performed before releasing the tractor?

another update. the front ring and pinion are broken. the second generation front end assem. broke 2 times (or was it 3), then the 3rd generation assem.(new design) broke twice. now they are shipping my dealer a 4th generation all new, newest design, complete assem. i hope they remember me at xmas for doing all this free testing for them.

Yikes. I hope they get this settled soon. I often wonder how close I've come to popping my L5030's front end as it doesn't look really stout.

Jeff.....I had the same good experience with Tractor Hill Kioti in Va. Bill called me and then drove 4 counties away to install my axle fix. Can't ask for better service than that! Bill and Todd really appreciate my business.

i'm nearing 650 hours on my 2 year old DK55.. no plans for the axle work until i get through hay season. based on my grandfather's premise that 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it':

should i stop everything to get the axle 'fixed'?

with haying and other field work, i'm not inclined to be without the tractor if i don't have too..

i'm doing lots of traveling over-the-road right now (some fields are a few miles from the farm), so i'm somewhat concerned..

i picked the tractor up today. i'm leaving the trailer hooked up to the truck. a person shouldn't have to go thru this.

i've worked the tractor for a couple of day's. it seem's fine. i think i will un-hook the trailer.
