There is no soot to be had in Hydraulic fluid.

At 400 hours (350 hours since hydro oil change), my hydro oil was almost clear but with a silt (probably from seals) and some meal flakes that settled.

Thanks to all. The local recycle place is getting picky (or worried) about what they're accepting so that's why I was asking. Shouldn't be a reason they can't take it...probably will be fine with anything that doesn't look like antifreeze and no reason I can think of that hydraulic fluid wouldn't recycle.
