I noticed there are two rectangular air intake/vents right above the front windshield and under the lip of the cab roof. I "assume" this is for the air conditioner and heater. There are remnants of some sort of thin green sponge filter that has mostly deteriorated under the covers. Not the end of the world, but I am sure it is to keep grass/chaff/dirt out of the system so I figured I would replace it. I am not having a whole lot of luck finding these - what do you replace these with?

Thanks,
Dan

Thanks for the question and for the suggested solution. That original foam material just falls apart if you try to clean it.

a humidifier element works well also. CJ

How about a lawn mower foam pre filter. The one that goes on my Kohler, would measure 3" x 18" if opened up.

I found a foam filter that wraps around a wet/dry vac. I figured it was designed for high air flow and durability - and it was less than $5 at Walmart. I haven't measured yet, but I figure I can trim it to fit both vents from my memory. I will let everyone know if this works out for the archives.

UPDATE - I went out to the property this past weekend and wanted to report back that these filters worked great. Had to trim to fit as the wet/dry vac filters are wider, but it worked fine. The only issue is after I installed the first side and went over to the other side, I stripped a Phillips head bolt that holds the mounting cover to the cab and could not get that side off to replace the filter. Those small bolts are put on with quite a bit of torque for some reason(?)

Prob the same person that put the hydraulic filter on. CJ
