Hi there. I just had my tractor split in two to fix a faulty clutch seal under warranty. Checked all fluids today and noticed front axel oil below dipstick mark. Would they have changed this (and not properly filled) as part of a splitting operation?

What fluid should I put in? Get from dealer? Does this need to be warm to check?

Thanks

Nancy

The older models use either tractor fluid (e.g. transmission stuff) or gear oil, either is OK. But check your owners' manual for your newer model.

The front axle can be tricky. In addition to needing to be level when you check, air gets trapped in the gears and you need to drive the tractor to get the air out and then recheck the level.
