I recently purchased a 2014 DK 40se. This is my first tractor and I perform only light use and maintain it very well. While performing the 50-hour service, I noticed a small leak on the bottom of the transmission cover. I called my dealer who said it should not be leaking there and advised me to bring it in for warranty repair. After a couple of weeks of not hearing from the dealer, I called him and was told he needed to order new seals for the tractor, but expected to be done with the repairs in a few days. Fortunately o was in no rush to get the tractor back, so I was not too impatient. Almost 2 weeks later, I happened to be in the town where the dealer is located, approximately 25 miles from my house, so I stopped by to check the status. The tractor had been split in half and the dealer said he was still awaiting seals to arrive. He said he expected them any day and the tractor would be ready soon. Today, almost two weeks later, I received a call from the dealer saying that while testing the newly installed seals, they noticed a leak on the power steering pump. Hey said they had to order one. To date the dealer has had my tractor almost 2 months to fix a small hydraulic leak. I love my tractor, but the only other dealer in this area is over 80 miles away. Is it normal for this type of work to take so long? I'm starting to think I should have spent a few bucks more and bought the Kubota.

Seems way too long to do the first repair. The second repair I guess was unanticipated so I'd give the dealer a break on that.

I got my DK40se back in 2007 and it has never been back to the dealer. I did a couple of minor warranty repairs myself (seat belt retractor and fuel bowl) with parts my dealer UPS'd in less than a week each so I haven't seen delays on parts either.

I'd be inclined to have a simple conversation with the dealer about the delays just to let them know you are disappointed. Maybe Kioti was simply out of the part but two months seems really extreme for such a simple part. They could have Fedexed a box of them from Korea in two days.

2 months is ridiculous.
You have been a LOT more patient than I am. I would have been calling every single day after the first week or 2 reminding them I want my tractor back.
My 2001 DK 35 has never been back to the dealer, and any parts that I have ordered I don't remember ever taking much more than a few days to be mailed to my door

Yes parts may have to come from Korea, but still, that's ridiculous. I'm inclined to think it could be the dealer pushing warranty work to the back, or just being slow. Can happen to any brand. The Case/IH dealer took a month to do some basic cleanup on my Farmall H, nothing major even. This was after I started pushing them, and they didn't fix the issue. Last time I've had a tractor in to a dealer. However, it is likely more a dealer issue than a brand issue. Sometimes you have to push them, and let them know that 2 months is not acceptable.

I can't imagine why those seals took that long. I needed some bushings for my bh which had to be ordered but were delivered under 10 days. I agree with the others, a dealer issue.

My tractor needed the same seal replaced along with a bunch of other small things under warranty before the two year bumper-to-bumper expired and it took 2 weeks to split the tractor, order in the seal and put everything back together.

I wasn't in a rush so I was in the slow queue. If I was in a rush I probably would have had it back in a week.
