DK40SE overheating ?

I've been bush hogging and on first day maybe 2 hrs into it I started overheating . I'm cutting hay down and it's about bottom of hood. screens and vents not really blocked up by stuff . I get home and take front apart where I could spray out radiator and it was pretty bad . I figured this was the prob and went to finish next day and with in 2 or 3 hrs it's starts getting hot again . This time screens were pretty blocked so I cleaned them off and temp came down but in no time it was rising again . Let it cool off and rises back every time . Finally I finished with hood up and never got hot again . So is this the norm cutting high stuff in 90 degree weather or do I have other problems . Wouldn't think the stuff would get past inside screens to block radiator and have to clean out every time . This is my first tractor and not sure what to expect but not to happy ..... With my kubota If I was cutting tall stuff I would have to stop and clean the grill screens and the removable screen in front of the radiator. Just depends on the type of stuff I was cutting but it might have to be done every hour or every few hours. I always kept a leaf blower in my truck and would raise the hood and use that to blow the engine and screens clean. If you use water to clean the screens and radiator you will need to let it dry completely or it will really Collect debris.

Yes that's normal. I prefer to use a leaf blower and only use a hose a few times a year. Even a brush to knock the worst of it off helps a lot.

Another fan of using a leaf blower.

Check the air filter for clogging also.
