I am doing the 50 hr service on my DK40SE HST and having trouble finding the recommended Transmission fluid Brand Names as listed in the service manual, any suggestion as to an alternative fluid?

I ran into the same problem trying to find some fluid to have on hand just in case (top off, etc.) after I bought mine in May. I ended up calling my Dealer and asked about the fluid I found at TSC (their "Traveller Premium Hydraulic Fluid") as it meets the Kubota UDT and John Deere J20C specs and he said that it was okay to use.
Also, check at a more rural (& I mean more in the farming area - if you have any areas like that around you) Wal-Mart to see if they have a Shell product. I just saw a 5 gallon bucket of Shell's fluid at a rural Wal-Mart but I can't find it at my local WM stores.

CASTROL UTF. This is what we use in all our tractors that we service here. Yes it is a little more expensive but it is very clean looking and has all the additives needed - factory recommended.
