Been using the tractor last couple weeks to brush hog my fields. Today I went out and cut one small one then moved over to another small one. Tractor starting to bog down with any type of load on the bush hog (think grass)about half way thru this field. Running it at the red mark (2500 rpms) when cutting. This just started, I checked the rear remote to make sure it wasn't dead headed. So I headed back to the house it ran fine coming up the driveway until up by the top (coming up a hill) and it bogged down again (never had it do this and been up the drive many many times).

So question is, what should I look at? Am i getting some type of bypass? I will say I have a 3rd function valve for my grapple installed but I checked that and when I hit the button with the tractor just sitting there you can here it engage the 3rd function valve. Also that can't be dead headed because I have the grapple off and the hoses connected to each other up front.

Suggestions???

Edit: yes I have checked the fluid

I'm more inclined to a fuel related issue. Either the tank with trash inside blocking the output passage or filter/hose partially clogged and when it gets under load and demands more fuel, there is simply not enough flow to suffice the needs and it bogs down. That's my theory at least.

Also, check the air filters and it's condition. Check if the radiator as clean. The basic stuff.

Let's see what more experience member have to say.

Yes, I would go with that until proven otherwise. Of course we don't want to talk about fuel injector or governor issues. First thing I would do is change the fuel filter and see if the fuel runs out vigorously when the bowl is removed and the petcock turned to flow.

Thanks guys, this could make sense. The fuel filter hasn't been replaced in some time AND I just had my 150 gallon fule tank filled back up. i do have a filter on that but could be some crap got in the tank and coupled with an old fuel filter I have some flow restriction. I will report back soon!

Thanks again

A common issue is intermittent power issues.. Works good some times and not others. This can be caused by "floaters" in the fuel tank that sometimes restrict the flow and sometimes not. Sometimes you can blow air back into fuel tank and it may work fine for a long time, and then not work again. think leaf over drain hole, or wasp or other insect. Hopefully it is just a clogged filter after you stirred up the crap in you main delivery tank by splashing fuel in there from the delivery hose. :)

Update: Changed the fuel filter and it runs great now. Had a little issue getting it started back up after replacing the filter. I filled the bowl with fuel when replacing the filter, but still must have gotten some air in the injector pump, had to bleed the system.

Thanks for the suggestion on the filter

Glad you got it fixed and glad you reported back. We really appreciate that. I bet you feel better about your tractor now knowing it was a $10 fix and nothing serious is wrong with your machine.

I do feel better, only got a chance to run it for about 10 minutes but it ran good. Just over 400 hours on it and this was the first "issue" I have had, it has been a great tractor so far.

While things might be good for now I wouldn't rule out the fuel filter clogging back up again, not if there could be a bunch of crap in the fuel tank. Might want to pull the hose coming out of the tank and drain a bit into a container and check to see what things look like.

Not long after I had my NX I ran into fuel starvation issues. It was "winter" (here in the PNW winters are quite mild). I had issues until I dumped some Power Service into the tank. Never had to use it for anything I've owned! The nipple coming out of the tank is a cold spot and there was likely moisture/water in my fuel: I struggled with water-in-fuel issues for a while; untraceable to my fuel tank or any other pieces of my equipment- it was ONLY an issue on my Kioti; while complaining about things to my dealer I tossed out that I hated the cheezy locking fuel cap and I was sent a new cap that was clearly better; since then, maybe 300 hrs (and a couple more winters) I have had ZERO issues. Not meaning to throw this thread off on a tangent, but my point here is that the tractor's fuel tank should always be a bit suspect because that's where the fuel is coming from!
