Next step. Follow the ground wire from the battery to the frame connection point. Remove the bolt and clean the connector and frame with emery or sand paper. I know that it started once but I have seen this ground cause this issue more than once. Also Verify your battery connections.

You can check to see if it is ignition switch or control module with a meter. The key switch puts 12VDC positive to the positive side of the start relay coil when in crank position. Disconnect the relay and probe the connector where it plugs into the relay. You can put your meter on DC volts, connect the black lead to a good frame ground and probe the positive coil connector while putting the key in crank. You should get 12V. Next clip your positive lead to the battery and probe the negative side of the coil. You should register 12V with the key in run and crank.

Let us know what you find.

Yes, do this.^

One other quick tip. When you unplug the relay to test it, turn the ignition switch to run and listen for the fuel solenoid to click. If it does not than the crank and fs relay positions are switched. The crank is supposed to be on the left/outside of the three but I have seen several on the right with the fs on the left. I have scratched my head a few times with readings only to realize that the relays were not where they were supposed to be.

just the low oil pressure light and the neutral light. Brake if its on. dash lights work when lights or the high beam is on. The battery light will also come on but it is not as bright as the other lights. I can wiggle the key and the battery light will change intesity or, it will not illuminate at all. The battery is fine seeing how when the tractor finally wants to start, it starts right up.

Sounds like you've a got a key switch problem. As others have said, this is a known prob item. I had a similar problem with crank but no start. Heard and felt the fuel solenoid click but no start. Took solenoid out and found that it would pull in briefly and not stay in reliably. Found by accident that my wife wiggling key during the check would get the solenoid to now operate as expected. Key switch will sometimes operate fine and then other times not. This could be your problem too.

Wiggle the key while trying to start. It may get it to line up proper contacts to start. If you find this to be the case, get a new switch.

Just turned over the 50 hour point on my DK45 and I don't like the key position. It is in a place where my knee can hit it or the dog bumping into it and have bent the key a couple of times already.

Your dog drives your tractor?! He must have long legs!

To the OP, make sure that all electrical connections are tight and clean; and the key switch could be faulty. Kioti makes a cover for the switch for when it's not being used, ask your dealer for one. Does your machine sit outside by chance? See if when the key is turned to crank and nothing happens if the range select lever being moved slightly makes the engine crank. Try that in both neutral positions on the range lever. Report back findings.

Hard Knocks hit the nail on the head. He and I were talking on the phone helping me and I realized the two relays were switched. I was testing the wrong one. I unplugged the one on the right side. He then had me used a jumper wire in the plug and I was able to get the tractor to turn over. Plugged it back in the relay and it wouldn't turn over. BINGO!! called my dealer and they are sending me a new relay. I pulled the connector back off, turned the key to run, waited for the glow plug light to go out, put in the jumper wire and she fired right up!!! I think it is fantastic that I can put up a post and someone on here will have the answer to a problem in no time. Thanks again Hard Knocks for your phone number and helping me through this issue. I am now a happy new Kioti owner.

No trouble at all Nick. Intermittent issues are hard to track down. Once you get that relay changed out and a few weeks with no issues we will know for sure that we nailed it.

Enjoy your new tractor!

And it still would not hurt to spray some Fluid Film (or your favorite lube/cleaner) into that ignition switch..I had some intermittent operation on mine over a year ago, and after spraying, no problems since.. To be fair the tractor is now stored under cover not out in the rain, but the Fluid Film seems to have fixed it up. Rain water can easily get into that switch causing corrosion with the contacts.

I think with the help of everyone My new Kioti starts every time. My dealer sent me a new relay. I replaced the old one, sat in the seat, turned the key and she fired up. Its been a week now and no issue what so ever. Thank you everyone.

Amen! Key is in a terrible position! Not only is it completely unprotected but it's vulnerable as well. I've hit it repeatedly w/ my knee to the point where it now has a bend in it ! And if I'm working in inclement weather the water runs right down it. I keep a towel there to avoid water tracking into the ignition housing.

Get a nice sunshade, (like mine) and it won't do that any more:) It not only keeps the sun off it keeps the rain off too! I agree the location would have been a lot better up under the dash a bit to protect it from water . Although I have never hit the key with my knee. Maybe my legs are shorter:) I highly recommend a shot of Fluid Film in it every once in a while to help keep out moisture and keep the contacts lubed up.

My shop is 1 1/2 mile from my house. I drive the tractor back and forth a lot. Before I finally made a rear view mirror, I would look over my left shoulder for traffic and bump the key with my knee and kill it. Nothing worst for an engine than to stop it stone dead with high exhaust temps. Thank God I don't have a turbo. I am going to move it.
