DK35SE steering problem....any ideas?

/ DK35SE steering problem....any ideas? #21
No, it was acting the same in either direction. I noticed you said cylinders (plural).....interestingly when the dealer's driver brought it back he mentioned that my tractor only had one single cylinder as opposed to two which they were used to seeing. When I was messing with it, it sure looked like one big cylinder to me with a line going to each end from the steering valve block.

Any other DK35SE owner's out there want to comment on their steering gear....one or two cylinders? Maybe a running change in production? If so I hope my problem was a fluke and not a sign of a general problem.....

I have a 08 35 and it has 2 cylinders for steering, interesting on their d c

Serial numbers HT63-00229 and under use 2 single acting cylinders.
HT63-00230 and higher use the single double rod end cylinder.

If the steering cylinder piston seals go out on a double acting cylinder it allows the oil to circulate through the Orbitrol rotary steering valve in an endless loop in both directions with no steering. With no load on the cylinder it may allow some movement even with the blown pressure seal. cheers glad you got it fixed.
