Kioti DK 55-New Holland EC-35
I have owned LK 2554 , LK 3054 and presently own a DK35 . I am thinking about trading up again for a DK 55C . I do some grading but mostly loader work , logging , plowing in the winter, and using the tractor as a wheel barrow in conjunction with a New Holland EC 35 mini excavator. The question is do you guys that own DK 50-55 think this tractor will work well in the woods as a skidder with a winch. The DK35 is a great size to fit every where with minimal damage but skidding larger diameter logs one at time is not real cost affective . Any thoughts are always appreciated. G

I don't own a 50 or 55, but I do have a DK 45. I've pulled some pretty large trees a couple at a time, but it was pretty much in open fields. My biggest concern would be if you go with a 55C (that's Cab, right?)-will the cab get damaged skidding logs in the woods/forest? I've seen lots of skidders with cabs, but they also have beefy steel guards and expanded metal around them (is this your plan with the Kioti as well?).

I don't know if the DK 55 has a front diff lock like the 65 does. I would think that would be very helpful for skidding large loads in tight quarters.

Good Luck
