DK 40 HST with FEL not responding to joystick

Hello.

I am looking for some direction on how to proceed. When using the FEL, the raise and lower direction of the stick works correctly.

Stick left retracts bucket but only goes to first stick position. Stick right first position will slowly dump the bucket and moving the stick all the way to the right causes the bucket to retract. The bucket is limp in all positions.

My dealer is too far for me to take it for service. I want to make repairs on my on but I have not found an adequate manual.

Needless to say I am not happy. Tractor has 200 hrs and I cannot clear snow from my own property, had to hire it done.

Any help or constructive advise would be appreciated.

Have you disconnect your Qc lines for the FEL? one by one make sure they are seated.

Have to checked your hydraulic connectors?

Hopefully he is out there doing just that with the engine turned off of course.

I have not had the connectors disconnected. The setup is just how it came from the dealer.

Lets start at the hoses. First move your joy stick up and down and side to side with the engine off. Then disconnect and reconnect your FEL lines.

Just because you have never had them off, does not mean they are on tight.. I cannot explain it, but go out and take off each of the 4 and carefully shove them back on. and retry it. No, I have not had this happen to me, but many people have, in all brands.

Swap around the good working and the non working ports of the connectors and valve to eliminate the ports on the valve, or point the finger at the possibly defective QC connectors. or cylinders. build, buy, borrow or steal a 0 to 3000 hydraulic pressure gauge with the proper connectors to test the ports. After some of them test defective, then rebuild/replace the joystick valve assembly. BUT it is the QC connectors either not seated or possibly defective in some way..

Remember when you hear hoof-beats, think horses, not zebra's.. Could be Zebra's, but not as likely.
