*scratching head* i don't see point in it. seems costly, needing 2nd person to drive tractor / work unit.

you are working with "row / crop" stuff....

Everything Attachments | Skid Steer Attachments, Tractor Attachments, 3 Point Hitch Attachments, and Farm Tractor Implements. cultivators are made to set each individual tine to given row spaces. and you just drop it and go down the lines. as long as you are not driving tractor back and forth like you are drunk. ((not sure why anyone would drive back and forth on there crops anyhow)) it tills the area between each row. and in that removing weeds that would be growing within each row. pending on how good your row spacings are (assuming you planted with an actual multi row planter) your rows should be nice and predictable in spacing.

They can make it cheaper by putting the weeder rotors directly onto the motors. These motors have quite sturdy bearings that are designed to take the load of a sprocket, so they can also take the weeding forces, the bending of the motor shaft instead of pure torsion.

It depends on the motor specification and type, but Danfoss has motors with slide bearings as well as roller bearings. Its just a matter of comparing spec sheets.

Nice design. The 2nd operator can see exactly what is being weeded and adjust the position of the cultivator tines to exactly where they need to go, allowing removal of all the weeds without damaging the crop plants.

Looks like they used hydraulic motors, mounted to long shafts, which provides a long wheelbase for the bearings that support the cultivator wheels, which are overhung on the end of the shaft. Should be very sturdy.
