My brother-in-law tried this with a treadmill he found on trash day. It worked... really well!

He was able to mix relativily large amounts of concrete by himself while myself and one of his sons spread out the mix. The contraption completely eliminated what was previously very hard work!

What you're seeing is a grading bucket on a john deere 310 backhoe dumping gravel onto a treadmill. the sides are carpet\plywood, it's all propped up on a bunch of skids\scrap etc.

The CASE 685 is pretty much in a well deserved retirement. Only time I see it is when there's a concrete mixer on the back.

I love it when the neighbors can't decide if your a redneck, or brilliant.

Right now in Canada the cost of premixed concrete is through the frickin roof, especially if you're dealing with smaller quantities on the weekend.

It's a great way to hand mix a couple yards and free up the guy who would otherwise be shoveling gravel.

Resourceful idea. Need a way to tractor load a concrete mixer. Loading by hand has wore out a couple mixers and me.

The clutch on it is also completely fried.

That's the reason why the mixer has some distance from the conveyor. There were some close calls lol.

Yep. Dumped a couple loads into the backhoe FEL for placement.
