DIY Fence Post Driver

Hi,
My Fergie TED has no Aux Hydraulic connection and I am loathed to do too much machining on the thing to add it so in the absence of being able to find a cheap PTO pump at the moment I have been looking for alternative post drivers. I have seen some that say they work on levers by lowering the lower link arms to drive the post in. These look buildable, has anyone used/built one or have experience or even better photos of the workings?

Hi DIY,
What kind of posts are you going to drive and what is you soil like?? "T" Posts are fairly easy to drive by hand.

In soft soil your 3PT may "Push" posts in, not quite the same as driving them.

I have also welded a 1/2" thick plate to the bottom of the FEL bucket. Use it to push and / or drive posts.

About 12 years ago out Highschool shop class my old friend Mr Coker built ons for a Cub Low boy that ran off the pto. His bolted to the rear culitivator frame mount and ran off the PTO. He used a golfcart rear end with a sprocket on the input shaft. The axle had drum brakes on it and one rim was made into a winch drum and the other was removed. THe side with the rim removed made the winching brake and the drum with the spool was made to hold the load. He made a track from I beam and a weight that slide on it. By locking one drum it would hoist the weight and drop it and he drove many blunt ended posts on his 85 acres.
