DIY backhoe dolly

I used two harbor freight movers dollies one big and one small.
I then added some wood I had laying around and made this backhoe dolly.
I can now move it around by myself you need to make sure the garage floor is clean to keep the wheels rolling.
I know it does not look pretty but I made it with stuff laying around.



I really wanted to weld a nice dolly up but this did not take much time to build and was supper low cost.

I used the dolly yesterday. I have a workhorse golf cart the has a power dump that I needed it to move some brush.
I was able to push the backhoe out of the way to get the cart out by myself.

I may have to put a coat of red paint on the dolly to make it look a little better.

It gets the job done and you were able to use stuff you had, looks very functional!

Can you share how you determined the proper height for the control end of the backhoe? This is on my list of things to do.

I cannot decide if the height should be lower than the tractor and then use the stablizers to raise and then lower the unit onto the tractor. Or, higher than the tractor and use the stabilizers to lift it slightly and then lower it.

My chipper does not get used as often as I wish because of the pain of removing the BH.

I use my little dollies sometime for my bucket when i leave it in the garage. Easy to move

I made a dolly for my BH92. It is hard to move because of the weight of the BH, but once rolling it moves pretty good. PJohnson, mine is lower so that I can roll it into place under the BH while it is on the tractor and then use the out-riggers and bucket to lift it off the tractor and lower it onto the dolly.

As mentioned above lower than the BH. I just built one with parts from Lowes. Four 200 lbs casters, a 2x10x6 and a 2x8x6. I used the scrap of the 2x8 to make a “seat” for the rear of the backhoe. I’ll take some pics if that helps.

I just took the dolly痴 added enough wood to support the weight and tried it. It is a little lower but I did not want it higher so it would be stable.

I added a couple pieces of 2x6 under the out riggers to make it more stable.

I did not use the out riggers at all to put it on the dolly or take it off the dolly. It was very quick to put it on.
I just rolled it over lined it up connected hydraulics tilted back how backed up.
Used back how to line it up and pin it very quick.
