Ditch Witch Backhoe Hydraulics

I have a Ditch Witch 140 Backhoe that I mounted to a Bobcat 763 Skid Steer.There are 3 Hoses coming off the Ditch Witch.I am guessing that 2 hoses are a return line and can be connected together however I am not sure what line is the pressure line and which are the returns.I have included a photo of the hydraulic manifold on the Ditch Witch.Also I do not know what is the high pressure connection on the Bobcat.Top or Bottom.

That is a stacked valve and the top right hose with a relief above might be the input.

A hyd gage in a tee would help you here.

Found this on eBay. Ditch Witch Manual 140 Backhoe Parts Book and Operator's Manual | eBay

It shows the three connections are, Pressure, Return and Power Beyond.

I finally got the hose configuration right and the Backhoe works perfectly.The bottom right hose (looking at it from camera angle) is the input and I Tee off the left and right top hoses to the return line.I still don't know what the Power Beyond is for but now it is a return line.

PB is the pump flow through the valve that would go to another valve if there was one in series.

If there is no other valve in the BH flow path, then both hoses can go to tank.

Your tank hose only has flow from the cyl which is expended fluid.

PB port has only pump flow.

Glad to see your DW 140. I got the same backhoe from a friend who had it on a Bobcat. I plan on using it on my Gehl 4625SX which is similar size/spec wise. Did it come already converted to fit the Bobtach?

No, I mounted it to a Pallet fork frame.I originally purchased a "universal make up plate" but the metal was so thin I opted for the Pallet fork plate.I just have to make support brackets to stabilize the backhoe.
