- 1966 Ford 4000 3 cylinder gas, 2003 Jinma 354 4x4 diesel
Hi
I have a 1966 ford 4000 3cylinder gas engine. I replaced my distributor with a rebuilt one from All states AG parts. (good people) The new distributor is about 1/4 inch longer than the old one but fits okay. Started the tractor with the new distributor installed and the tractor ran fine for about 5 minutes then started sputtering and running rough. Investigated and found that the plastic piece attached to the points that rides on the rotating shaft had wore down to the metal. Installed a new set of points and the same thing happened. Does anyone have any ideas what is causing this problem. All States AG parts assured me that I ordered the right distributor. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.
