Here in north Alabama yesterday it was 83 degrees outside it was all the a/c could do to keep the cab semi cool.I placed a thermometer in the duct and it was only putting out 60 degree air.The condenser is clean and the sight glass on the filter/drier has no bubbles when the compressor is running,so i think the regerigerant level is correct.I had 17 psi on the low side and a 175psi reading on the high side. The small mickey mouse compressor would run for 30 seconds and shut off for 7 seconds.Does this sound correct?Should i have the windows tinted?

It sounds like you are not getting enough air flow over the condenser… you might set a shop fan in front of it to see if there is a change in cab temp..
You will gain a lot tinting the glass. I did that and a few other things and in the cab on my L4200 will freeze you out… KennyV.

I'll second the air should be able to freeze you, I was in a L4240 trying to act like a farmer and I was rather chilled. I only wish I had enough land to be concerned about keeping cool in a tractor that size of my own.

I'd volunteer seat time with local farmers if they'd allow it. Its good mind therapy and an escape for those who don't have to do it daily.

Unless tractor a/c is different then automotive, the cycling compressor is an indication of a low refrigerant charge. The compressor should keep on going unless you have an automated climate system to tell it what temperature to turn off at.

I agree, add some 134.

My thoughts also, low on 134. 83 degree ambient temp, 17PSI low side and 175PSI high side are also indicators system low on 134. A automobile usually runs 26-30 PSI low side and 225-250PSI high side when the ambient temperature is 83-85 degrees. Locate the accumulator (large silver cylinder) is it sweating on the outside. No sweat or moisture on the outside of the accumulator is another indicator the system is low on 134.

the air in the vent isnt cold enough. my m4900 will get down to 36 degrees coming out of the vent. i have a problem when my compressor stops cycling the vent temp goes to 48 degrees. It will go to 60 degrees idling.

my low side pressure is 45 psi.

For what you paid for the tractor, I'd make them fix it. Are you still in the warranty period?

My M105X is plenty cool enough even in the 90's we get sometimes in NH.

Try a can of 134, you'll know right away if that's the problem.
