Just go to ebay and do a search for surefire or any similar light will do. just make sure it has a pressure pad that you can mount on the barell, and works on & off momentarily with a push of your finger. These lights are so bright that you can momentarily blind an intruder and get the upper hand in a situation. Giving him time to surrender or go down.
Remember seeing him hauled away in a police car is always
better than facing the district attorney, reporters, newspapers
insurance man, lawsuit, his family ect...
But if your life is on the line, you what to do !

This is really sad. Personally, I would have shot the darned bull. I would have offered to compensate him out of the $500 he owed me for his bull trespassing on my property, called it quits and gone on with life. Either that or dragged it out back, dumped it in the woods for the coyotes.

I always remember what I was told by the Dallas Police 20 years ago when I first came to the States. After a spate of robberies in our "nice" middle class neighbourhood and being completely naive, I was trying to find out what my rights were as a homeowner when my property was broken in to. More than one officer told me that, "If you shoot them, shoot them dead. The last thing you want to see is them being rolled into court in a wheelchair pushed by a nurse, covered in bandages when they are sueing you for 10 million dollars". You got to love Texas but it's advice that I've never forgotten. I've never had to use it ... but I've never forgotten it.

First on the left is CQC rifle (0-100 meters), still need to get a set of double shield aluminum M-4 handgaurds put on), middle one is "optimum" for 100-400 meters and the one on the right is good out to...well, you wouldn't believe me /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Surefire does make a nice light, only problem is at night the light gives your postition away. There are other things available out there that would "surprise" you in total darkness /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Wife has the shotgun, I have some "home brew" loads that I use, so I'm not worried about over penetration (on the 5.56). I know all of my lines of fire in the house and have gone over most, if not all scenerios possible if firepower is needed.

Point to original thread being that if you go on someone elses property and plan to take somthing (even if it is yours), first, get the "law" involved.

Again, don't bring a knife to a gun fight, and only bring a handgun if your rifle isn't around.
