If you have the space to turn around I would go with the tow behind. YOu should be able to tow at least an 8ft maybe 9ft. Does your tractor have ag tires? They would help alot. If you go 3pt hitch I would not go over 7ft. The weight alone will give you problems. And as some one else said they just dont float very well and cut the sod if the ground is not super flat. I bought a 7ft kk 3pt hitch and plan on selling it as soon as I can find a 8ft or 9ft tow behind in descent shape. I used my neighbors 10ft tow behind and my tractor pulled it fine but would like something just a little smaller. my tractor is 43 horse with r4 tires. Must be pretty dry to do anything. Either way make sure you have weight on the front end. Rear loaded tires would help for traction also.
