Disc on sale - good deal?

Local farm store has a square tube 6 1/5 ft double disc on sale for $750. Notched front discs.

Looks like the one tractor supply has that is normally $965.65, if so I'd say its a bargain.

All KK stuff is on end of year close out. 10% or more off by the look of it.

Yes, that's a good deal. I paid $900 for that exact same disc 4 yrs ago. I've use mine a lot and even loaned it to neighbor and it's still lookin' good. Pretty solid disc. bjr

Yep....I have that same disc. Very stout and well built. I think that price is several hundred lower than what I paid 2 years ago.

Well, I just found the exact disc for sale used in the Thrifty Nickel for $500. It sounds like it is in good shape and hasn't been used very much at all.

I have been looking for a 7 1/2 foot disc but they are $1,233 new here and I think that for what I will be using it for I may go ahead and get the 6 1/2 foot one especially after hearing the good things that people have to say about them.

I can move my 8' disc down to the land where I will be using it on 20 acres and use the 6 1/2' one around my house on 5 acres. On 5 acres it shouldn't take that much longer using the 6 1/2' vs. a 7 1/2'.

Before going to the auction where I got one for $135, I priced 5 and 6 footers at the local TSC. The 6 footer was about $500 and the 5 footer was about $600. The pictures in the catalog looked identical, so one has to presume the 5 footer was built somewhat heavier. Both were King Kutter brand.

Mine has 16" smooth discs, set in two rows and adjusts for angle by moving bolt locations on the frame. I had one in Michigan that was not for a 3 point but just got dragged behind the tractor that had levers to set the angle, probably so it could be transported with the discs parallel to the direction of travel. Still seems like it would be kind of hard on the disk to travel very far with it rolling along though.

Well, I'm probably gonna kick myself, but I don't think I will be getting that disc. The Propane contract for the winter came in (Pfft - there goes a chunk of change), the 12year old washer is peeing on the floor (pffft - there goes another chunk of change), the CC bill for vacation came in (YIKES! There went a big chunk of folding money!!). That and I had to buy new arrows for this years hunting season - was down to only 3 decent ones.

Probably a good call. It doesn't matter how good of a deal it may be. If it's more than you can spend, the deal's not good enough.
