we have a brand new m7040, and it wouldn't lift a pallet with 2500lbs on it. them we took 350lbs off of the pallet, and it lifted no problem. i have heard of small modifications that can be done to increase lifting power. would anyone mind explaining them to me, and would it void the warranty at all. 2500lbs would be the max we would need to lift. it is 50 bags of 50lb per bag ice melt. thanks for any info.

Have the dealer check the pressure relief on the loader control. I had the same issue, as well as others, and once set correctly, should work fine. My relief was about 250 psi set too low.

Good luck

The rating is for the weight that you are working with in the middle of the bucket. Your problem is that the weight is extending out beyond that.

I would allow the dealer to check the pressures. They can be off and might be the main issue. To move the weight to the tractor side would also help not just removing it.

Often when lifting large loads to raise the loader with the load tipped down a bit and then use the roll back to lift will give enough on large loads.

My 7040 will lift both rear wheels off the ground, meaning the tractor is to light for the hydraulics. I've thought of putting water in the wheels, just have not done so. Art is correct on lifting heavy loads.
