I have 44 acres North of Collins with chicken houses on it and somewhere between 12 and 20 acres of it needs to be cleaned out. I have had three loggers and a chipping operation look at it and all have said that its too small for them to use(mostly vines, privvy hedge, and small hardwood). It is bounded by 1200 feet of the Okatoma and I would like to clean out the underbrush and get the river accessible and make some pastureland out of it. My tax man is saying that Uncle Sam is going to be very good to me this year since I built two new chicken houses last year. I will get a full years depreciation on 4 weeks income from them. If he is correct, I am going to take some of the money and clear the land. I have owned the land for 3 years and was only able to get to the river once by wading a small feeder stream to where it emptied into the river. Wish I could give you a more definite tract size.

Have you tried using Google Earth to get an approximate tract size? I did so several years ago to get an idea of how large a piece of land was that I was interested in purchasing, and when I had it surveyed I came within an acre of the accurately surveyed acreage.

Call me on my cell 601-337-1069 and we could set up a time to view the tract and discuss your options. Believe me, I know all too well that the price of timber is way low right now. I am on a small 6 acre tract in Hat now and I can not get anyone to "take" the wood. Even if I processed it and everything. Hardwood pulp is going for @15-17 dollars per ton and pine is not much better. Hardly worth messing with. Call me

Will do, it will probably be a few days, the weather has wrecked my roads and I'm trying to get them passable enough for feed trucks.
