NH TC29
Clutch pedal goes to floor and does not release the clutch, however clutch appears to hold just fine, so assuming it's a TO bearing issue.

For the last couple of hours of operation, the bearing was squealing when I depressed the clutch.

Anyway, any idea what I'm looking at as far as repair effort/cost? I'm assuming the tractor will need to be split?

Thanks,

TB

It's in the range of 8 - 16 hours of labor. Then parts. Usually if you split a tractor you change out all the parts as the labor to open and close is much higher than the parts costs.

7 years old, 225 hours

Bought it with 220 hrs, knowing that something was up with clutch.

Deal was too good to pass up, even knowing it would need repair (but hoping it was just a sticky bearing from not being used).

8-16 hours is what I was guessing, plus $500 or so on parts. I just hope the transmission input shaft didn't get galled by the bearing.

Sure is low hours to need a clutch already. But sounds like you got a good deal. Is there an inspection plug/plate you can pull to see inside? Might be able to spray some lube up toward bearing to quieten it down some. Might be something else altogether. I know, some will say spraying won't do anygood, might get on clutch, etc. So what, will probably have to split unit anyway, so I would try it. Good luck, and welcome to TBN.

As a follow-up to my problem.

Throwout bearing was trashed, looks like it was abused pretty badly by DPO.

New Clutch, Pressure Plate, and Flywheel (missing teeth??!!).

Parts and Labor $1200

Having them do a full service including the replacement of all fluids filters and belt for another $300 as it never had the break-in service performed.

Thanks everyone, advice was spot-on.

Doesn't take long if you ride the clutch...

Ain't that the truth!

$1200 for a split incl parts is a good price too. Now if you only use the clutch to shift and not as a "ride" it should last for the next 15 - 20 years.
